Velocity is a Java-based template engine which aims to ensure clean separation between the presentation tier and business tiers. To use Velocity a Web designer would create HTML pages with placeholders for dynamic information which will be processed by the VelocityViewServlet. A code-cutter may also use Velocity to generate Java code, SQL or PostScript based on templates.
