Windows Server 2008 R2 - "Web Platform Installer could not start"

I was getting the common "Web Platform Installer could not start..." error trying to install WPI on 2008 R2. Grabbing the x64 installer from this link solved the problem for me: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=146055
