Ladder of Inference

Initially developed by Chris Argyris, the Ladder of Inference, begins with Real Data & Experience. We then choose Selected Data & Experience that we Affix Meaning, develop Assumptions, come to Conclusions, and finally develop Beliefs from. Beliefs then form the basis of our Actions which create additional Real Data & Experience. People often have difficulty with this circle and our Beliefs influence the Selected Data & Experience to establish an internal reinforcing loop which short circuits reality.
